It's all Relative - Week 7 - Physics
Are all vibrations good?
Resonance
Connections between Energy & Qi
I would say that all vibrations are "good", yet also keeping in mind that there are just as many "good" vibrations as there are "bad" one's. There must be a balance between the two, such as waves of sound going in multiple directions. There are ways where we may take potentially dangerous vibrations such as earthquakes and translate them to non-violent vibrations through physically manipulating the output of the vibration.
Resonance in my world:
- I find resonance in owning two cats. One may vibrate and live at it's own natural frequency, while the other vibrates and lives as well but in a harmonious balance between the latter.
- When I am taking a turn on the freeway, I lean down towards the turn and match my turning position with the speed of my motorcycle. If I lean down farther, I match that frequency through pulling the throttle and going faster. If I am not leaning as much, I do not need to use very much speed to find the resonance of the two.
Energy and qi can translate as a certain kind of vibration which resonates within us all. Alike the theory of planets orbiting at it's perfect resonance to others, we are also like walking planets with a level of resonance as well. Energy being a part of our natural projections into the world, and our qi being the field of connection between all other living or non-living objects.
Just as it is possible to generate energy, it is possible to generate a vibration or resonance that may affect others. Qi is vibration in theory with the physiological functions of the body and it's spiritual aspects in relation to emotions and consciousness.

Sometimes I wonder how we can harness the power of resonance and projecting energy. I find it it beyond impressive that martial arts masters have cultivated control over this kind of energy. Some people are even able to move physical objects with their mind power. The unseen power of energy is something that is undermined in modern life.
ReplyDeleteI like your take on resonance as balance. The equation must always be balanced, whether we're talking about cats or speed. If a cat on a motorcycle is turning a curve, the angle and speed would be very different than if it were two cats on the bike. If the cat was used to having her brother ride behind her, she would need to correct for the loss of mass and lean her which brother would contribute. The resonance, and maybe the satisfaction of her ride, would be very different.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your pictures! Also yes I agree, I dont believe energy can really have a “bad or good” connotation. We as humans may have a judgment on something that happens to us, but in reality we really don’t know how our experiences will affect us in the long run. For example, we often look back at the events that happen to us and will sometimes think that a bad experience was “bad” at the time, but when we look back retrospectively after several years, we see how positive it was for us in the long run because of the lessons we learned.
