Class Discussion: "Acupuncture is a Healthcare System"
I agree with the comment of acupuncture being strictly an "alternative" option for people to try out. It is important to not leave this practice in that general category because it comes off as an unorthodox resource for people who are in need of help. If we were to effectively promote acupuncture and TCM as a viable source of medicine and equally complimentary source of help, I think more people would be interested in giving us "alternative" people a shot.
It is also important to maintain a good relationship with practitioners of other modalities, in order to strengthen our resources for the patient. Strong ties with other sources of help may only benefit the scope of healers and those who wished to be healed.
"Biochemistry is the study of fundamental mechanisms at the molecular level"
This statement seems to be true because of one of the sole correlations with biochemistry is the investigation at a molecular level, and within the sphere of living organisms. The practice of breathing and sleeping can be studied within biochemistry, just as the study of what happens to the brain while listening to classical music. Any sort of fundamental mechanism that a human, animal, or plant can do, we can study!
Yes, I agree with you that we should maintain strong ties with all healers of the world! We can all learn from each other to strengthen our own modalities and also work as a whole to better help humanity!
