Alchemy - Science, magic, art?

Alchemy does seem like a medley of all three: Science, magic, and art. As it may only take one so many trials and hours of work to figure out the proper composition of certain elements and create things such as superatoms! The term "magical" may be a easy way of sorting out the genre of this science, yet it is still a form of art in all it's stretches and efforts. 

The process of building a hydrogen fuel cell was quite interesting. As I did not know that such a wondrous thing could be built in the convenience of our home. It makes me wonder why and how have we not been able to input this sort of experiment into large-scale projects in helping our every-day life as well as environment. Could there be something we could all make at home that could contribute in benefiting ourselves and the outside world? We need answers! Ahhhhhh
