Essential Science: Antidepressants found in Fish Brains
While standing on the brink of our evolutional explosion post-turn of the world's inevitable tide, we are faced with the feat of finding ten species of fish having traces of common antidepressants in their brains. This cannot be a normalized statement within our modern day society.
Though inadequate wastewater treatment is clearly to affect part of an aquatic population, we are blind to truly understand to what may mark as a danger to the fish species. Their constant exposure to the antidepressants could pass along for generations of their kind and I wonder greatly, if this could potentially cause a brain mutation?
